Mostly 'it seems..', Weak Reasoning

Mr. Conwell's book deals with something very deep, the fundamental source of Being, which is called 'Audible Life Stream' in this book. I basically agree on the point that the fundamental energy or the Source would be some kind of vibrating energy, whether it be sound or light or even superstring. But the point I would like to make here is that almost all assertions he makes are not compelling enough. It seems he provides grounds, scientific or spiritual, but upon examining it just 'seems.' His reasoning is not precise enough for me to get at the conclusion and fully agree with him. Again I hope the author will not be busy quoting from numerous cases in trying to provide sufficient grounds, but rather focus on more meticulous reasoning.

As a devotee of a Path of Light and Sound, and having experienced these as my True Self, I am greatly appreciative of M. Conwell for his profound research and insights. If he had added that The Buddha taught a Path of Light and Sound, the book would be perfect. Note: the author is not a devotee of my tradition, thus lending even more credibility to this research. Thank you, Mr. Conwell.

A must-read for all seekers

This is the best-written, most comprehensive source for understanding consciousness that I have ever laid eyes on. I found myself hanging on every word, underlining just about every page, turning down almost every corner; and now I plan to read it again, this time with different color highlighters to squeeze even more out of this juicy, most important work. Thank you for a superb, beautifully written guide to living and dying...and more importantly, dying while living.

Shewolf

I thought this book was very good. I would like to read more to see what else comes after. It was really great for me to read. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. Maybe it did rush a little toward the end but I can't imagine it another way. I very much enjoyed this book.
*There are some mistakes writing wise but only like twice were she got names mixed up but its obvious who it was so no confusion upon reading.

Harper is completely in love with her girlfriend, Alex. But in Shewolf, the girls seems to be fighting more than usual. Mostly because of Alex's brothers. Harper just doesn't understand why she has to go home to them every night, and why they act so hostile toward her. Of course, she also doesn't know that Alex and her brother are werewolves. At least, not until one night when Harper is walking home alone and a wolf bites her.

Shewolf was really fun and sexy. The focus is, of course, on the relationship between Harper and Alex rather than the very light plot. Those girls are super into each other! When they're not fighting, they're having plenty of sex. In fact, even they are fighting, they're having make up sex! Alex is also trying to find a way to be with Harper without pissing off her family, which causes more problems. That's where the minor plot kicks in. It's fun and a bit exciting, but never goes too deep. That's okay though, because I was still enjoying Harper and Alex together.

Shewolf is a super quick read. I read straight through in about an hour. It's definitely a good piece of mindcandy, if you're looking for a fun and sexy Paranormal Romance. Just don't expect any great plot developments or deep characterization. It does have a nice ending, no cliffhanger, and it's really sweet. I certainly wouldn't mind reading more about Alex and Harper, because there's obviously more to come with them.

The writing is not great, but it's not terrible

This book has potential... The writing is not great, but it's not terrible. The plot made me scratch my head a few times, but it wasn't the worst I've ever read. What soured me the most about this book was the shear number of grammatical and spelling errors. My goodness, can we get a proofreader, please! This is the problem with self-publishing these days. I get it - you want to get your story out there, but for the love of all that is good, proofread your story, then proofread it again. It is so distracting and takes away from what could be a very good book. I would read another attempt by this author as she had some really good ideas and I really liked a couple of the characters.

Kids love finding the hidden duck on each page!

Love these books. They have lots of rhyming words for the kids to sound out. The stories are cute. Each page has a little duck hiding that can make reluctant readers excited to turn the page and find the duck.
Cons They are a little too long for a true beginner. My son is a very beginner reader who I am teaching to read at home. These books were about 3 pages too long for him. I switched to bob books so my son could read most of the book by himself. I will bring these back out when he had gotten a little used to reading books mostly by himself.

The book as a whole is concerned with fundamental ethical questions, including, but not restricted to, questions of feminist ethics - such as the nature of value and the good life; moral requirements and their associated epistemology; character-formation and the ideological critique of the processes by which this is carried out. The essays deploy ideas drawn both from Platonic-Aristotelian and from Kantian ethics, as well as from later Wittgenstein. However, they also attempt to respond to the destabilizing impact of Nietzschean and postmodernist thought. The writing is addressed to those engaged in, or with some interest in, academic philosophy and draws on a wide range of philosophical source materials, but avoids unnecessary technicality. In the same way, it should appeal to those with a pre-existing interest in academic feminism (and in some forms of feminist activism), but could also serve to draw new readers into the domain of feminist thought.

Sabina Lovibond, Worcester College, Oxford

Sabina Lovibond is an Emeritus Fellow of Worcester College, Oxford, where she taught Philosophy from 1982 to 2011. She is the author of Realism and Imagination in Ethics (1983), Ethical Formation (2002), and Iris Murdoch, Gender and Philosophy (2011). Her work has been mainly in ethics and feminist theory, but with some continuing influence from ancient philosophy and from the later philosophy of Wittgenstein.
