Well-written and substantiative; Revitalizing for believers and extremely beneficial for nonbelievers.

Doug Jacoby is a highly educated theological scholar. He has traveled all over the world to teach and specializes in Christian apologetics and exegesis of the Bible. What I really like about him, however, is that unlike some scholars or authors who only know a lot about their particular field of study, Doug has devoted much time to studying out other religions and other fields of study (such as science) which enables him to have a uniquely broad perspective and understanding of the things he teaches.

I highly recommend this book for believers and nonbelievers alike because of the plethora of information and tremendous insight it provides. It is very well-written, thought-provoking, and faith building. He handles the questions of God's existence and the validity of the Bible with finesse and prudent consideration.

He begins by "clearing away the debris" of all the arguments against the existence of God. He discusses atheism in detail and provides strong arguments for the reality of God. He then moves on to the credibility of the Bible and provides extensive information based on his own experiences visiting archaeological and religious historic sites and the utilization of his training in Ancient Greek and other biblical languages. He also discusses the life of Jesus in detail including miracles and the resurrection. The final part covers the pursuit of God and making informed decisions. In the bonus appendix, he discusses the trinity, Bible Study strategies, and "seemingly" contradictory passages in the Bible.

If you do not believe there is a God, then this is the book for you. If you are questioning whether God truly exists or doubt that the Bible is God's Word, this book will really make you think and prayerfully build your faith. If you want to be able to defend your faith using sound arguments and valid evidence, this book will be invaluable to you.

Highly recommend this book

As a young Christian, I often read and reread Jacoby's earlier work, "True and Reasonable". What a leap forward from an already good foundation! Jacoby's personal growth as an author and teacher is apparent in this similar, yet greatly improved work. His arguments are even more compelling and sound. The tone and vocabulary is neither condescending nor over the head of the intended audience. Jacoby strikes a great balance between keeping it relatable to the average disciple and including content that helps the more intellectual ones.

The cases that he builds for a faith in Jesus are profound, yet simple to understand. His recent public debates with skeptics and people of other faiths have prepared him very well. They shine through in this book. He has grown tremendously in his ability to make a very persuasive, honest, and logical argument. In some ways, the book reads as the expert presentation of one side of a debate, which can prepare the average disciple to make a case to skeptical friends. A person with an open heart and mind will have a difficult time refuting the evidence.

I highly recommend this book to skeptics, seekers, young disciples, anyone with doubts, or those looking to help their friends come to faith.

A truly amazing compilation of years of study

This book is so scientific yet so readable to the somewhat "common folk" that I am. I love that Jacoby really puts his faith to the test and lets the reader in on it. I go back to this book often. This is a purchase you will not regret.

Not awful

Author needs to do a little more research if he's going to write military sci-Fi. Examples: rank structure oddities and customs/courtesies are out of wack, you can't tourniquet abdominal wounds, gets clock directions confused at times. Nonsensical tactics.
Additionally, EMP is demonstrated to be effective at knocking out Alliance tech, but for some reason the protagonists never think to use it to schwack the zombied ARRs, freeing tons of additional bodies to help in the fight?

Overall much better than most non-mil authors trying to write in this genre.

A very enjoyable and recommended read.

I don't often right reviews, I do read alot of sci-fi and sci-fantasy and due to the volume, I often try free stuff! Much of what you can find is second rate and doesn't make it past the first chapter, I'm pleased to say this series has so far been very enjoyable and kept me page turning well into the small hours. I'm looking forward to more from M.R Forbes and I am sure I won't be disapointed.

The Universe is a Wheel of Time...

Takes up where Starship Eternal left off. People have outline the plot: this is a battle against AI. But not a simple battle, but full of complex ideas and interesting characters. Can one man make a difference, with a small support team and enigmatic AIs both helping and hindering? It keeps you guessing and entertained. I look forward to the conclusion.

Try it, if you like SF and galactic wide engagements. Might help if you understand the Buddhist Wheel, too.

Book Was in very good shape, as promised. Very little notes and comments made by the previous user, as promised.
Book materiel is very well written but the subject matter is still hard. I am using it for a PhD. level class so I did expect the subject to be somehow harder than my previous classes.

For learning bond graphs this book is perfect especially for the very low price. This is the cheapest book I have purchased in school and I will be keeping it. The bond graph sections of this book are perfect but the equation derivation sections are lacking in terms of clarity and content. I would recommend this book for learning bond graphs and getting a brief understanding of deriving the equations and transfer functions.

Great book to begin to understand the concepts of bond graphs. Also has chapters on deriving state equations. This book is definitely a "readers book". Its more of a book you sit down, read, and think about the material. Not so much a book filled with example problems.

Playable and fun classical arrangements

I have had Volume 1 for years, from which I especially enjoyed the Bach and Grieg arrangements, and just recently obtained Volume 2. In Volume 2, I've read through a number of the pieces, and find it to be as good an investment as Volume 1. These books make a decent library of pieces to play from when performing background music for parties or gallery openings or the like.

I find this series to have fun, playable arrangements of fairly well-known classical pieces originally composed for piano or symphony, not guitar. While the pieces aren't incredibly challenging, they still require solid note reading skills (no tablature - hurray!) and fretboard knowledge beyond the seventh fret (although most of the pieces stick well within the first position).

In an attempt to gauge the playing level for these books: These pieces are playable for classical guitarists who have made it to Mel Bay's Modern Guitar Method book 2, at least through lesson 16 of Frederick Noad's Solo Guitar Playing Volume 1, or who is a ways into Matteo Carcassi's Guitar Method.

Volume 1 includes pieces by Bach, Grieg, Haydn, Schumann, and Tchaikovsky. Volume 2 includes pieces by Bach, Bartok, Beethoven, Handel, Mozart, and Scarlatti.
